Q: How would you cite quotes from a movie we watched in class?

It depends on what kind of film your professor showed in class. Ask your professor for the details and then cite accordingly.

Q: How do you cite an interview?

MLA – Interviewee Last and First Name. Personal Interview. 31 March 2015.

    • Example: Evers, Gina. Personal Interview. 31 March 2015.

APA – An interview is not included in a reference page. Only include an internal citation of the interviewee’s name, personal communication, and date.

    • Example: (G. Evers, personal communication, 31 March 2015)

Q: How do you use in text citation for web articles?

APA- (Last Name, Year, p. x/pp. x-x)

MLA (Last name xx)

Q: How do you use Chicago Style citation?

Q:What’s the difference between references and works cited?

A reference page is used for APA and a works cited page is used for MLA.

Q: If you quote someone’s statement and mention their name before, do you still need to put their name in parenthesis at the end?

Not their name, but in APA you need to cite the year; MLA you need to cite the page number
